Discover the captivating story of a young temple maiden (bayadère) named Nikiya who believes she has found eternal love.  Set against the exotic backdrop of ancient India, this visually stunning ballet draws upon a mesmerizing precision of the corps, poetic pas de deux, and poignant solos to recount Nikiya’s fate.  Bewitching temple celebrations, magnificent wedding festivities, and a breathtaking parade of arabesques, known as the iconic “Kingdom of the Shades”, lend majesty to this timeless tale.  Absolutely mystifying, La Bayadère depicts a glorious, yet tragic world where power and revenge insidiously threaten the spirit of love.  A revered ballet classic performed worldwide, "La Bayadère" comes to Huntington Beach for only the third time in its full-length, epic version complete with vibrant costumes and sets.
