Play information:
Nominated for multiple Tony Awards in 2013, Orphans is a dark, comedic tale of two brothers living an almost feral existence, until they meet a mysterious businessman who befriends them, encourages them, and becomes the father they never had. Contrasting bracing, “streetwise” energy with a sense of lost innocence and longing, the play’s emotional power lies in its capacity to suspend audiences between its wicked sense of humor, and its unexpectedly tender spirit.
Raw, uproarious, haunting, violent, masculine, and profane, Orphans is one of the most moving plays you are likely to see in a very long time; a visceral gut punch that also manages to tug at the heart with both hands!
NOTE: This production contains adult language and situations, and is intended for mature audiences.
