Ellen Kim – Part-Time Instructor
Ellen Kim has received both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees with honors, in piano performance from California State University, Fullerton. She then furthered her piano studies in Austria and Italy. Some highlights include appearances in Bad Aussee, Eisenstadt, Salzburg, Vienna and Urbino.
As an active member of the College Music Society (CMS), Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), she has maintained an active piano studio for almost 30 years. In addition to teaching and performing, she is frequently invited to adjudicate in composition and piano competitions. She has also been published in the piano pedagogy journal by the Music Teachers’ National Association (MTNA).
Ms. Kim currently serves on the music faculties of California State University, Fullerton, St. John’s Conservatory of Music, and Golden West College. She has been teaching at Golden West College since 1999, where she teaches History and Appreciation of Music, Class Piano, and Applied Piano.
She has been profiled in Marquis Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women, the leading biographical reference publisher of the highest achievers and contributors from all significant fields of endeavor across the United States.
